Through Brooklyn Eyes An Ordinary But Not So Ordinary Life eBook Martin Stolzenberg Reviews
A charming book that easily combines nostalgia for a bygone era with stories and insights that are very much relevant in the 21st century. I enjoyed it greatly.
This book took us back to our formative years of growing up in Brooklyn. Though we didn' t live in the same neighborhood as Marty we experienced the same memories growing up. If you are from the Big Apple a reading must if not a delightful story.
The part about Marty's father was true about a lot of us sons and fathers that grew up in Brooklyn.
Irene & Paul
This book is a home run in several ways. It is the story of a boy who lives the American dream. In this memoir Martin relives the charming tales of his youth as the son of immigrant parents in Brooklyn, New York. He introduces the reader to the people who shaped his life and inspired him to become a successful businessman, father and role model. Most important, this is an example for others to document their life and family history for the generations that follow.
No matter where you grew up, growing up in the 1940's and the 1950's was special.
Marty Stolzenberg perfectly captures this time with his reminiscences of friends and family.
This book can resonate equally with those who grew up in Brooklyn and with those who did not.
It is the relationships that we were able to develop and sustain in those kinder American communities that Marty so beautifully evokes.
His stories are entertaining, informative and interesting.
Definitely a five star read!
